Post subject:  Internet speed test -- post your results
With a few options for broadband now, let's compare the performance.

Please go to http://speedtest.net/ and take the test:

1) Go to the "WAVE" for Lamma:
http://www.speedtest.net/wave/82153f2f6dc0c398

2) Click on "Settings" and choose "Preferred Server" as "Los Angeles DreamHost " (so we're all measuring the same thing).

2) Click "Begin Test" on the map.

3) After it does the test (a few seconds) click "copy forum link", which will put the text link to the image on your clipboard, then paste into a post here, mentioning your ISP (though it should be in the image too), as below.

Please specify location -- you can post results from other places, but particularly for Lamma.

Just put your results here, use this thread for discussion.

Tai wan on the supposed all singing and dancing netvigator. Used to get faster dial up than this in the UK.

Smartone HSDPA USB Stick... results varied after a few tests. First one was the best. Note that I only had 2/5 bars for signal strength

and connecting to an HK server for the fun of it... notice that the result was worse for download

started using smartone 148HKD service yesterday
did not have time to test with the speed test tool, but youtube is working
well, Itunes is working well(downloading podcast), website is working
well.
