This is using the home broadband up in Tai Peng. At night, the signal seems to get worse, but these numbers are consistent during the day.

Man, what rubbish. There's other users with over 6mb, and I can barely get half of my theoretical 3m connection?

Speedwise I am under the 50-percentile among PCCW users.

If I change the server to Hong Kong the results barely change:

*but* we've had quite a bad problem for at least the last month where actually establishing connections is very hit and miss - sometimes I have to hit reload a good 3 times before a webpage will load, even though the actual transfer rate is always fine.

In my new flat in Sha Po Village, fortunately still over 5MB download speed, like in my former Sha Po flat.

Reminder: the idea is to all use the same measurement,
speed connecting to Los Angeles.

Speed to the HK server isn't terribly useful and would give a false advantage to those who use the same ISP as the server in question.

Oops, sorry, forgot to reset the server to LA. Here's the test for LA:

Download still great, but not the upload.
Much of what I do is uploading to this website and it takes time....

This is pretty close to the advertised line values PCCW, wired, Tai Wan New Village.

Questions:
- Are there any options apart from PCCW/Netvigator and SmarTone? The other networks (So-Net, New World) seem to have folded or given up on Lamma....

- Has anyone got any where near 3mbps down using SmartTone? I heard they're upgrading their network....
