******************************************************
The Government plans to deepen an existing tidal watercourse and construct a stormwater open channel at the upstream of the watercourse to alleviate flooding problems at Yung Shue Long New Village, Lamma Island.
The proposed channel will serve the purpose of collecting and conveying stormwater from Yung Shue Long to Yung Shue Wan.
The works, covering about 250 square metres of the foreshore and sea-bed at Yung Shue Wan, are scheduled to commence in September 2003 for completion by August 2004.
A notice describing the extent of the affected area is published in the Government Gazette today (January 17).
Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may send a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road on or before March 17, 2003.
