Press Release from HK Electric, Nov 9 2015:
Use of mobile phone apps to collect electricity tariff payments
In response to public enquiries, a spokesman for HK Electric clarified today that the company has not authorised or commissioned any firms to develop mobile phone apps to collect electricity tariff payments from customers.
HK Electric offers a wide variety of e-payment options to customers - auto pay, PPS, internet payment and automatic teller machine. Customers can also settle payment by visiting HK Electric's Customer Centre, post offices, counters of The Bank of East Asia or convenience stores (7-Eleven, Circle K, VanGo and CRVanguard), or by using cheque deposit machines at HSBC or Bank of China Hong Kong. In addition, payment can be made by mailing a cheque to G. P. O Box 6600 Hong Kong.
The company will keep track of market development and continue to explore new payment channels to meet customer needs, the spokesman added.
