See what I discovered during a hike in North Lamma recently! Deep drilling equipment and works in progress! What could they be drilling for? Email me, PM me, SMS or WhatsApp to 6151 5406, or post your best guesses here. Imaginative, silly and funny replies strongly encouraged. The mystery will be revealed soon...

Pretty obvious, they are trying to blow a bubble of concrete under Lamma to inflate its surface for even more buildings. |

MTR corporation is starting to construct the new Cheung Chau line (magenta line) with a station on Lamma below Power Station Hill (exit A towards Tin Hau Temple, exit B to Hung Shing Ye). They are already building steps and prepare for escalators - LG posted some images of that, earlier. There will be an Okashi Land store right next to Customer Service, a McDonald's drive-in and a Bank of Communications ATM. Still no cinema, screw them. The complete route will have the following stations (by 2018): - Kennedy Town (interchange station to Sheung Wan Line) - Cyberport - Ap Lei Chau - Lamma Island (by 2019) - Cheung Chau (terminus, 2022) To my best knowledge, the Cross Lamma Channel Bridge project has been canceled, after complaints by HKKF. But MTR Corp. can't be stopped that easily. |
