Join the Protest this Sunday!
We have received this plea from our friends on Lantau and Cheung Chau:
Your support is needed at the protest rally against the incinerator on Sunday 18 March.
We have received police approval for the following arrangements:

Assemble at Pier 6, Central at 3.30 pm

Protest walk along Man Yiu Street, Pedder Street, Queen's Road Central, Queensway, Rodney Street, Tim Mei Avenue to Legislative Council Complex

Speeches at Legislative Council Complex.
For maximum impact, please wear black, white, or black and white clothing.
This issue is highly relevant to our efforts to clean up Lamma and improve waste management on the island. Despite a vast amount of effort - letters, reports, clean ups, complaints, meetings with all levels of government and with all relevant departments - we have seen very little willingness or ability on the part of government to change the way things are done. The mega-incinerator won't help - our recycling will still be pitiful, our bin areas outdated, and attitudes and habits will remain the same.

Sign the petition (ignore the request for donation if you wish to, your name will still be included) and come along on Sunday.
