Post subject:  People Power on Lamma?

Now I'm even more confused than usual. This voter registration drive leaflet, in Chinese only (?) has been handed out at the ferry pier to commuters this morning (8am ferry). It also had the bilingual voter registration form attached. There was also an English banner attached - 2011 No Automation!

The leaflet had absolutely no contact info of any kind at all, besides the People Power logo. It encourages people to register as voters with a platform and top priorities that look almost identical to Lammadonna's and the DAB's top priorities, definitely far different from anything Living Lamma proposes:

The leaflet says at the top that they want to hurry these top priority projects if they get elected in the District Council Elections on Nov 7:

1. 24-hour medical services (everybody agrees on this).

2. An activity room (already in progress of being built),
plus a new, bigger library and many more indoor sports/recreation/learning facilities/buildings in YSW for students, seniors and elderlies and sports fans.
Most of these have been promised by Govt. already in a low, large centre to be built on top of the Phase 2 Harbour Reclamation, in front of the Bookworm Cafe)

3. The Bike Park between the Library and the ferry pier (also the current politicans' top priority project.)

Could somebody get us a comprehensive summary translation of this leaflet, please?

Will the HK-wide People Power movement parachute in an off-island candidate trying to win the vote by fighting for exactly the same projects that Lammadonna has so far been only partially successful in getting built?
And will Living Lamma try to find their own candidate to oppose the other two?
Confusing...

Well, it looks like some really interesting and exciting election campaigns might be happening this time, so register (June 16) or change your particulars (Aug 29), only 3 days left!

I just got the Chinese-only People Power leaflet translated verbally.

It basically simply emphasises the same points I've summarised above already, for example Point 3: "We want the Bike Park at the Library ASAP!"

I saw a photo of the guy handing out the flyers at the ferry pier, but he doesn't seem to be local - or is very low-key so far - as even several Chinese, long-time residents didn't recognise him.

People Power will be picking up the filled-in voter registration form tonight and tomorrow from 6:20-9:40pm at the YSW ferry pier. Say hello, hand in your form and try to find out more about their plans for the election!

Or do it online: Info at http://www.voterregistration.gov.hk/eng/home.htm
