No, this isn't showing a human using the wrong public toilet, but an FEHD cleaning lady raking and cleaning a Dog Latrine. So these designer latrines are actually regularly cleaned, even though (almost) no dog ever seems to use them.

Wow, e, yours seems to be the ONLY dog on Lamma ever using them!

I posted the same pictures and question in the Facebook group for "Lamma Dog Owners".
Over a dozen Lammaites responded, but NONE had a dog who would ever use these Dog Latrines more than once or so:

Please post your own experiences in there, if you like, or should I add them for you?

"My dog always uses these dog toilets when he passes by one. His favourite one was the at the end of the pier, near to the steps going to Po Wah Yuen, but that one has been dismantled. He still tries to locate it whenever he passes by that point. "

Absolutely ditto. My old chap always used that one and another one regularly, which is also now missing, I believe, near the construction opposite the animal welfare.

We get them trained to do these things and then they get confused when they are are not there. And let's face it, if you gotta go, you gotta go and if you've been holding it for the right location (aka public loo) no wonder they end up pooping on the path.

I tried this once. (I was young and foolish, new to Lamma). I got shouted at by the dog owner, and threatended with the bag of faeces. I tell you, someone weaving a bag of dog poo in your face is quite a challenge.
I now know better. You just have to put up with it. It's like those people illegally downloading music and movies. You know it is ruining these industies, but loads of other people do it, so why not you? Same with letting dogs poop all over the paths. Deep down offending dog owners know they are thoughtless. But I guess you have to have idiots on Lamma to appreciate the good people on the island.
