Hello from the "My Lamma e-zine", your weekly e-newsletter about all things Lamma!

          Lots of media attention focussed on Lamma this week;
from a 3-page lurid Next magazine article to a TVB Pearl Report story.

Back issues of this e-zine are now available online in our "My Lamma e-zine" forum.
By the way, "e-zine", a common Internet term, stands for e-lectronic maga-zine.

          "Happy National Day" from Lamma-Gung

  1. "DECADENT PARTY ON DESERTED BEACH"

The Full Moon party on Power Station beach on Mid-Autumn Festival made it onto the cover of the widely-read Next Magazine.

Three pages of interviews with "Bobo" and loads of dark, blurry photos accompanying a morally outraged, righteously indignant article about those "decadent people", howling at the moon, going skinny dipping, taking all kinds of drugs, dancing obscenely to wild rave music, having sex in the wilderness, being all stoned in the morning, organised by Gwailos who want to seduce innocent local girls into one-night stands...

Well, sounds like a great party, if it were all true...

But Lamma people attending were talking of just a regular fun party, no major problems or anything unusual happening. Police watched undercover, it was rumoured, but didn't intervene.

  2. "STANDOFF ON LAMMA"

Great story against the YSW reclamation on TVB's Pearl Report last night!
Lots of interviews with SaveLamma.org, the Planning Dept., Ron of the "Green Cottage", the "Lamma Bistro" owner, tourists and even a fisherman.

Discuss the story and the fight against the reclamation at:

  3. "A SMALL ISLAND OF NON-ENGINEERED APPEARANCE"

Did you know that eight falcon nests have been constructed at the Lamma Quarry,
and that probably "the biggest man-made lake in Hong Kong" with "a small island of non-engineered appearance" is in progress?

Story & pictures submitted by one of our alert readers:

  4. "WAH! HOU LEK! SIK GONG GWONGDUNG WAH!"

webdog: "Foreigners are continuously being insulted, battered and punched for making even a tiny mistake in their tone."

Trials & tribulations of Gwailos trying to learn Cantonese:

  5. "I COULD FEEL YOUR ENERGY, YOUR LOVE OF LIFE, THE HEAT OF YOUR FLAME..."

New song from Lamma musicians "Thinking Out Loud".
Listen to it on MP3.com and advise our Classy Rock Goddess if she should record her famous laugh to sample into her friend's music:
